The Man In A Black Suit Essay
In The Man In The Black Suit by Stephen King the theme is the loss of innocence.
We see the theme loss of innocence when “ I stopped at two of three other places before I got to the place where Castle Stream forks” in the road his memory comes back of losing his brother Dan. Gary had a bee on his nose and he tried hitting it off so it wouldn't sting him like Dan. When Gary was leaving he was wondering about why Candy Bill didn't go fishing with him. Gary was fishing until he came across The Man in the Black Suit and the guy scared Gary and that is when Gary Peed himself. We know why Candy Bill didn't go fishing because the dog sensed that something will happen. The story took place in 1914 just 2 years before Gary's Brother Dan dies and before America enters World War I . This story was about the loss of innocence in people. The reason of Loss of Innocence is because Gary's mother didn’t feel confident in herself from not going to church and how Dan died from a bee sting. And this is why The Man in a Black Suit is a good story to hear about innocence coming from a 90 year old guy from a 9 year personatile.
