Sumatran postings
Hi, there, you Sumatran Tigers. Post below: In a well-crafted written response, please explain a theme from "The Man in the Black Suit." Make sure to provide relevant and specific detail to support your claim.
The theme from "The Man in the Black Suit" written by Stephen king is that all innocence is lost because Gary met the Devil in the woods, and this story was purposefully set three years before world war I. The event that Gary still remembers 81 years later is him meeting the devil in the woods when he was nine years old. The reason it still traumatizes Gary 81 years later is because of what he found out that horrible day. Even though Gary never did anything wrong, went to church, and was a good boy, the devil still found him. Meaning that no matter if you're innocent, the devil can still get to you. For example in "The Man in the Black Suit" it says, "In the dark comes a voice which whispers that the nine-year old boy I was had done nothing wrong for which he might legitimately fear the Devil either...and yet the Devil came." This shows that Gary was innocent, but that didn't matter that afternoon in the woods because even though Gary had done nothing wrong, the Devil will still come. Next, Stephen King purposefully made the setting of the story three years before World War I because of the fact that World War I symbolizes the loss of innocence. During World War I, a lot of people lost their lives even though they were innocent children, families, or people. This is what Stephen King was trying to show in his story "The Man in the Black Suit." Therefore, the theme of "The Man in the Black Suit" written by Stephen King is that all innocence is lost. Just as Gary found out that day in the woods, even if you're a perfect person and even if you did nothing wrong, the Devil can still get you.
One of the themes in,"The Man in the Black Suit" is once you lose innocence you can never get it back. The story is set in the summer of 1914 before World War 1 when the lost of innocence happened. In the story Gary is always haunted by his encounter with thr devil.
The theme in "The Man in the Black Suit" is that life isn't fair and bad things happen to good people. Gary was just an innocent little boy who went to church and obeyed his parents. He did nothing to deserve his visit with the devil that day, but for some odd reason he came. Gary didn't deserve a lot of things that happened in this story such as his brother dying. Gary's brother died because of a bee sting in the west fields. His brother Dan did not deserve to die at such a young age and Gary didn't deserve the grief. In conclusion the theme " The Man in the Black Suit" is that life isn't fair and bad things happen to good people.
A theme from "The Man in the Black Suit" is that the world is unfair. An example of this is when Gary's brother Dan, dies from a bee sting unexpectedly. Dan didn't seem to do any harm to someone or something else, meaning he shouldn't have died as he was an innocent person.
